Synopsis
A lively tale of a pregnant Salford
teenager, her mother, and her unlikely friendship with a

It starts off as just another depressing
black-and-white drama, but it soon becomes a wonderful
affectionate portrait of the tough life of the North of England of
those times (the film was made in 1961).
